The Model 84L rifles weigh just 6 pounds, 2 ounces. Even then, the match grade barrel is still 24 inches long for maximum velocity. The Model 84L does not compromise accuracy or velocity to save weight.

The Model 84L action follows the minimal dimensions of the Model 84M, but is slightly lengthened for standard calibers. Both Classic and Classic Select Grade models hold 5 rounds in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber.

The Model 84L features a full-length Mauser claw extractor for true controlled round feeding and extraction. The most dependable system ever developed, it prevents the double-feeding and jamming of common push feed actions.

The Model 84L Classic Select Grade is available in .25-06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. The French walnut stock with ebony forend tip and hand-cut checkering establishes a new production rifle standard.

Model 84L rifles have a match grade trigger that breaks crisp and sharp at 3.5-4 pounds, just right to think off the shot of a lifetime. The floorplate release is inside the trigger bow to prevent accidental opening.

Like all Kimber rifles, the Model 84L has a match grade barrel of optimum length for the cartridge it chambers. This ensures maximum velocity and the flattest possible trajectory.

Fine details speak loudly of quality - walnut mated perfectly with ebony or subtle inletting that gives a barrel its float. Attention to the smallest detail is a cornerstone of every Kimber rifle.

Three-position wing safety acts directly on the cocking piece for greatest security.
Actions are bedded on twin aluminum pillars for strength, stability and accuracy.

The Model 84L Classic is a new category of hunting rifle, one blending true light weight and accuracy with America's favorite calibers like .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. Features include a 3-position wing safety, Mauser claw extractor and match grade barrel.

There is no reason - at least no good reason - for a hunting rifle in .270 Win. or .30-06 Spfd. to weigh 8 pounds. Still they do, if only because that is the way things have always been done. Custom gunmakers learned long ago that hunters wanted lighter rifles, built them and charged accordingly. Until now, light rifles have come with a heavy price.

The Kimber Model 84L™ is a new category of rifle. Weighing only 6 pounds, 2 ounces, it offers the custom and performance features expected from Kimber at a production rifle price. A properly shaped classic walnut stock with 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator pad diminishes felt recoil, and a full-length match grade barrel wrings every bit of velocity and accuracy out of America’s favorite cartridges. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds, not 3 or 4, and both pillar and glass bedding stand up to the tough of the hunt.

The Model 84L Classic features a walnut stock and is available in .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. The Model 84L Classic Select Grade is a step up, with a French walnut stock and ebony forend tip. Chamberings include .25-06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-06 Spfd. It took Kimber to get light right.
